Marie H. Kohn, 94, formerly of Kewaskum passed away Thursday Aug. 19, 2010 at the Beechwood Rest Home. She was born on April 30, 1916 in the Town of Scott, the daughter of the late John and Ida Ebert Gatzke. On July 7, 1934 Marie married Clayton N. Kohn at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. Marie worked at Regalware, Engerkress and later at Boyle Midway in Illinois before retiring and returning to Wisconsin. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Marie enjoyed playing cards and belonged to many card clubs, playing bingo and dancing. During her time at the rest home, Marie was still the warm and well liked person she always was. Survivors include her daughter Janis (Leander) Oppermann of Kewaskum her grandsons Corey (Jennifer) Oppermann, Shane (Melissa) Oppermann and Sheldon (Jessica) Oppermann, her great granddaughters Lauren Marie and Sara Jane, her sister-in-law Vivian Kohn, her nephews Delmar Gatzke, Galan Gatzke and Dennis Gatzke, her nieces Karen Schneider, Diane Grichtmeier and Vivian Ione Clearman, other relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Clayton on June 23, 1980 and her son Clayton, Jr., her brothers Arbie Gatzke and Leo Gatzke, her infant siblings Raymond, Adolph and Clara, her brothers-in-law Michael Kohn and Lester Kohn, her sisters-in-law Louise Gatzke, Leona Gatzke and Myrtle Kohn, her nephews Jeff Gatzke and Robert Kohn and a special friend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday Aug. 25 at 4:00 PM at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 PM until time of mass at the church.
