Phillip Roland Baumann, age 54, of Campbellsport went to be with the Lord Tuesday August 31, 2010 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 8, 1955 in Fond du lac, the son of Roland and Agnes (Hall) Baumann. Phil graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1973. Phil and his brother Paul took over the family farm in the Town of Eden in 1980. He loved the country and working on the farm. On September 18, 2004, he married Dianne (Stevens) Baumann at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. He was also on the board of directors of the Empire Threshing Club, a member of the Town of Eden Rezoning Committee (deciding about issuing variances) and a member of the International Harvestors Club. Phil loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed flying and got his private pilots license in 1979 and he and his friend Dave Gellings bought their 1961 Piper Commanche. He also loved to go to Farm Toy Shows and collect farm toys. Phil was a Ford man and loved to drive around in his 2008 Mustang and 1990 Thunderbird. Survivors include his loving wife Dianne, his parents Roland and Agnes, his sister Barb (Steve) Baus of Armstrong, his brother Paul of Campbellsport, his nephews Bill (special friend Mandy Duchow) Baus and Andy (Brooke) Baus of Fond du Lac, his niece Nicole (Matt) Nysse of Madison, his step daughters Danielle (fiancé Cory Abraham) Menghe of Fond du Lac and Deanna Menghe of Oshkosh, his brothers-in-law Jeff (Kim) Stevens of Pardeeville, Josh (Michelle) Stevens of Portage and Jerrold (fiancée Jessica Jenkins) Stevens of Mauston, his step nieces and nephew Val, Nicole, Arthur, Josie and Lexi, aunts, uncles, other relatives, many friends and his special companion his dog Bailey. Preceding him in death were his maternal and paternal grandparents, his uncles Bill, Art and Gib Baumann, and Leo, Gerald and Barney Hall and his aunt Helen Baumann. Visitation will be Friday Sept. 3rd from 3:00 PM until time of mass at the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Campbellsport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday Sept 3, 2010 at 7:30 PM at St. Mattthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and family burial services will be Saturday at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Armstrong.
