Maree E. Uphoff, 92 of Fond du Lac, passed away Fri. Nov. 12, 2010, after a short illness at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. Maree was born April 30, 1918 in the Town of Oak Center, WI the daughter of Georgia “Susie” Laing. On June 22, 1946 Maree married Leonard Uphoff. Maree and Leonard owned several taverns/stores in Wisconsin Rapids, Kenosha, Hillpoint, Arkdale and Pound. They wintered in Venice, FL from the 1950’s until 1980’s. Maree is survived by one step daughter Violet”Dolly” Spencer, 11 step grandchildren: Leonard (Susan) Ott, Dennis (Tammy) Ott, Judy Brausen, Donna (Larry)Brackett, Mona Uphoff-Cass, Roger Uphoff, Darlene (Don) Penisten, Bill (Kathleen), Gilbert, John (Sarah) and Bonnie Spencer, many great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, cousins and many friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, her husband, her daughter Carlotta Saxsma. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 16, 2010 at 1PM at the Twohig Funeral Home at 305 Fond du Lac Avenue with the Rev. Anthony Farina officiating with burial on Wed. Nov. 17th at 10AM at Roselawn Memorial Park, 401 Femrite Dr. Monona, WI. Friends may call on Tues. Nov 16th from Noon until 1PM at the Funeral Home.
