Marie M. Wondra, 92, of Campbellsport left us to be with God in His heavenly home on Wed. Nov. 24, 2010. Marie was surrounded by her family that she loved so well at the Hope Health and Rehab Center in Lomira. Marie was born on July 14, 1918 in the Town of Ashford the daughter of the late Frank and Lucia (Fell) Soeller. On Sept. 6, 1939, she married Bernard M. Wondra at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Ashford. Marie was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Ashford all her life. She was a member of St. Martin’s Mission Ladies of Ashford and St. Matthew’s Mission Ladies of Campbellsport. Marie helped bake a lot of goodies for St. Martin’s bake sales and canned pickles for the Hilltop Mass. Marie liked to do lots of canning, making jams, gardening, sewing and watching the birds out her kitchen window. Marie would keep the family and lots of friends happy with her chocolate chip cookies. Marie worked at the shoe factory in Lomira, helped on the farm and worked at the West Bend Company for many years. Marie was a very hard worker. Survivors include her children David F. Wondra, Richard Wondra both of Campbellsport, Ruthie (Wally) Ewert of Kewaskum, Butch (Char) Wondra of Campbellsport and Luci (Rick) Fauska of Colgate, 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, her sister Gertie Wondra of Lomira, her sisters-in-law Janice Wondra of Mayville, Frieda Stommel of Fond du Lac and Marilyn Pea of North Fond du Lac, many nieces and nephews, lots of good friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard on March 5, 1994, her son Thomas, her daughters-in-law Nelda and Renee, her great grandson David, her sister Angeline Mitchell and Angeline’s husband George, her brother-in-law Alvin Wondra and other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday Nov. 29, 2010 at 4:00 PM at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Ashford (N1271 Minnie Ln. Campbellsport). Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and entombment will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. Visitation will be Monday Nov. 29th from 12:00 PM until time of Mass at the church. Memorials are appreciated to St. Martin’s Church Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, is serving the family with guestbook and condolences at www.twohigfunerals.com. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Hope in Lomira for their care of Marie and also for all who helped in Marie’s care in any way, the residents who made Marie feel at home especially her roommate Clara, Heartland Hospice nurse who gave their care to her and Dr. Wonder who helped through the years.
