Margaret R. Weis, 95, of Campbellsport passed away on Friday Dec. 24, 2010 at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport. She was born on Sept. 4, 1915 in Dundee, the daughter of the late Ernest P. and Margaret Kellner Haegler. She married Raymond Weis on Jan. 27, 1934 at St. Matthew’s Church in Campbellsport. She and Ray operated a grocery store in Dundee and moved to Campbellsport in 1948 and owned and operated Weis’ Tavern for 43 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking them camping at Star Lake. She sponsored several different bowling teams and enjoyed bowling for many years. Survivors include her children Jerome (Bev) of Loveland, CO, Barbara (Eric) Falk of Campbellsport, Mike (Sheila) of Campbellsport and Marjean Weis of Campbellsport, her son-in-law Don Klein of St. Germain, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, her sister Sylvia Adams of California, her sister-in-law Valeria Ketter of Campbellsport, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray on Dec. 23, 1999, a son Lewis Weis on Aug. 10, 1955, a daughter Eileen Klein on Nov. 4, 2000, a grandson Joseph Klein, five sisters Ernestina, Lydia, Clara, Marie and Elvira and three brothers Clarence, Gerhardt and Ernie. Visitation will be Tuesday Dec. 28th from 4:00 PM until time of mass at the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Campbellsport. Memorials are appreciated to Hospice Hope or St. Matthew’s Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday Dec. 28th at 6:00 PM at St. Mattthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and burial will be Wednesday in the parish cemetery.
