Lorraine Danielson rose to Heaven light as a feather early Wednesday morning January 26, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. At the time of her departure she was a resident of Cedar Community Timber Cove in West Bend, WI. Obituaries rarely list Alzheimer’s as a cause of death. But she was a victim of its burglary until at last she let go of food, of fear, of need of life. It’s a “contagious” disease that spreads its suffering to within the range of love. Many families have caught it. Ours is just one. There is little harder in life than watching the slow disappearance of someone you love. Lorraine was born in Clayton, WI on Aug. 2nd1920 the daughter of Hubert and Olga Fellrath. She graduated salutatorian of her high school class and married Hilton “Corky” Danielson. She is survived by her four children: Vicki (Terry) Tighe of West Bend, Larry (Judy) Danielson of Campbellsport, Sharon (Dennis) Hoier of Hortonville and Randy Danielson of Newburg; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Colleen Fellrath and Mildred Amans, special nieces, nephews and cousins. Our mother’s interests were many. If she wasn’t playing bridge or doing daily crossword puzzles, she was reading a good book or knitting beautiful sweaters that were handed down through the generations. She was an excellent cook choosing from many cuisines “Food for the stomach, Feasts for the heart”. She was active in the Woman’s Club and Church circles. For many years she was a dental assistant to Dr. John Pesch of Campbellsport. Lorraine and Corky traveled the entire United States and filled their passport with 41 countries on 5 continents. She kept her family close and had many happy years filled with weddings, birthdays and parties with their many good friends. Now she is together again with her husband of 70 ½ years. Dad preceded her in death less than two months ago on Nov. 29, 2010. She was also greeted in heaven by her parents, her parents-in-law, her only brother Darryl and her daughter-in-law Mary Kay Danielson. A private memorial service will be held on Saturday January 29th at the United Christian Church, 228 Forest St. Campbellsport followed by burial at Union Cemetery in Campbellsport. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Cedar Community-Timber Cove of West Bend or the Campbellsport United Christian Church. Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, is serving the family with guestbook and condolences at www.twohigfunerals.com. Our family will forever be grateful to the dedicated caregivers at Cedar Bay for the excellent, efficient and loving care given to Lorraine. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.
