Harold Michael Uelmen

July 5, 1922 — February 6, 2011

Harold M. Uelmen, 88, of Campbellsport passed away Sunday Feb. 6, 2011 at Kathy Hospice, West Bend. He was born on July 5, 1922 in New Fane the son of Albert and Christina Schlosser Uelmen. On Oct. 9, 1948 he married LaVerne R. Kuehl in St. Michaels. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Survivors include his seven children Tom and his wife Sue of West Bend, Bob and his wife Sharon of Juneau, Mary Stein and her husband Steve of West Bend, Donna Markgraf and her husband Jim of Campbellsport, Jim and his wife Kathy of Kewaskum, John and his wife Hilda of Fond du Lac and Patti Schickert and her husband Jeff of Campbellsport, 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, his two sisters Audrey Herriges and her husband Richard and Arlene Schneider, his brother-in-law Don Kuehl, his sister-in-law Evelyn Theimer, his special friend Darleen Rochwite, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife LaVerne, his granddaughter Shelly Markgraf-Schultz, his two brothers-in-law Richard Theimer and Edward Schneider and his sister-in-law Shirley Kuehl, Our father’s interests were many. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he was involved in horseshoe and pool leagues. He enjoyed playing cards and socializing. He worked at St. Joseph Convent for 37 years and for the Village of Campbellsport for 13 years. He was a past member of the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department. He was always very proud of his family and had many happy years filled with weddings, birthdays and parties with very good friends. Now he is together again with his wife LaVerne of 40 years. Visitation will be Wed. Feb. 9th from 3:00 PM until time of mass at the St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Campbellsport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed. Feb. 9, 2011 at 7:00 PM at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Rev. Charles Bodden will officiate and burial will be Thur. in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Campbellsport.
