Thelma Dressen, age 78, of Fond du Lac formerly of Plainfield was born to eternal life Tuesday Feb. 22, 2011 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born May 14, 1932 in Aiken, South Carolina the daughter of the late Therman and Ruth Chavis Gleaton. She married Ben J. Dressen on May 8, 1978 at the Courthouse in Wautoma. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2007. Thelma loved to garden, sew, cook and can the produce from her garden. Her faith was very important to her. She was a former member of the New Life Church in Plainfield. In 2008 she moved to Fond du Lac and was a member of the Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include her 3 sons: Robert(Kim) Veley of North Fond du Lac, David James (Paula) Smith and Danny Ray Smith, three daughters: Brenda Hood of Jacksonville, FL, Virginia (Scott) Van Court of Niagra, WI and Mary (Jeff) Kranich of Wisconsin Rapids,10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Thelma had 9 siblings, so many nephews, nieces and many other relatives and friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ben. Memorial services will be held Friday Feb. 25, 2011 at 4:00 PM with the Pastor Will Kennedy officiating at the Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church N6104 Esterbrook Rd Fond du Lac.
