Gladys K. Larsen (nee Bertram), age 88, of West Bend passed away surrounded by her family on Monday April 4th. She was born on June 20th, 1922 in the Town of Ashford to Anton and Cecilia (Steffes) Bertram. Gladys graduated from Campbellsport High school and on September 30th, 1940 married Kenneth Larsen in Medford. Gladys was a member of the 25 year club at West Bend Company. She served on the Board of Directors of the Long Lake Fishing Club and as secretary for over 20 years, as well as a member of the Dundee Sportsman Club and an active community volunteer. She enjoyed her cottage at Long Lake and spending time with family and friends. Gladys bought many raffle tickets and was often a lucky winner. She liked to listen to WBKV, WTKM and the Brewers games. Survivors include two children, Diane Bruendl and Dennis “Whitie” (Mary) Larsen both of West Bend; four grandchildren, Debra (Jan) Lucas of Campbellsport, Kristine Bruendl and John Bruendl both of West Bend, and Joel (Elsie) Larsen of Geneva, IL; two great-granddaughters, Jessica and Nicole Lucas; one great-grandson Miller Larsen; a brother-in-law Henry Theisen of Eden; and many other relatives and friends. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth on February 19th, 2002, her parents, two brothers Elmer and Gilbert Bertram and three sisters Viola Theisen, Marina and Frances Bertram At the family’s request, private services will be held with entombment to follow at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. Memorials to the Long Lake Fishing Club of Campbellsport, WI are appreciated.
