Ila Mae Seibel, age 85, a resident of the Woodlands, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 27th, 2011 at the Hospice Home of Hope. Ila Mae was born October 10, 1925 in Fond du Lac, to Frank Keys (who passed away two months before her birth) and Dorothy Crofts Keys. She graduated from St. Mary Springs in June, 1943. On April 22, 1944 she married Elmer H. Seibel at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac, Rev. Gerhardt Pieper officiating. She and her husband farmed in the town of Empire until retiring when they moved to North Fond du Lac where they lived until she moved to her present residence. During the years 1951 thru 1963 she worked at Montgomery Ward Catalog Office in Fond du lac, seven of those years as manager. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac. Since retiring she and her husband travelled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. She enjoyed fox hunting, square dancing and ballroom dancing. Ila Mae had quite a wit and was a people person. Survivors include her two daughters, Sandra Hatfield and Carolyn (James) Pierquet both of Fond du Lac, two grandchildren, Michael (Nicole) Pierquet and Jennifer (fiancé Saibu Sharma) Pierquet, two great-grandchildren Claire and Noah Pierquet, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elmer on June 1, 2002, an infant daughter Mary, son-in-law David Hatfield, and brother and sister-in-law George and Mildred Keys. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 30th, from 1 to 3PM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1600 S. Main Street, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be held at 3PM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Rev. Jon Cox will officiate and burial will follow at Forest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
