Darlene R. Whitty, 76, formerly of Campbellsport passed away on Tuesday May 10, 2011 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. She was born in Hartford on August 16, 1934 the daughter of the late Custer and Violetta Zimdars Werner. On October 15, 1955 she married Wilbur N. Whitty at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Neosho. Darlene was employed at Fire Insurance Rating Bureau in Milwaukee, the West Bend Company in Hartford, CM & DM Frey Construction Company and then for the Department of Natural Resources in Campbellsport before retiring. She was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Campbellsport and was a great lover of nature, an artist, a reader and a great cook but she found her greatest enjoyment from her family. Survivors include her son Daniel (Paula) Whitty of Virginia Beach, VA, her daughter Lynn (Charles) Dolan of Fond du Lac, her granddaughter Ciara Whitty of Virginia Beach, VA, her sisters Joan Werner of Iron Ridge, Phyllis Lehman of Neosho, Nina (Glen) Weismueller of Fox Lake, June Wolf of Oconomowoc and Jean (Michael) Kintopp of Iron Ridge, her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Margaret Whitty and Alice and Lyle Hundertmark all of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur on March 31, 1992, her brother Dick Werner, her brothers-in-law Jim Whitty, Daryl Lehman and Darwin Wolf, her nephew Joseph Wiesmueller and her niece Cindy Wetzel. Funeral services will be held Friday May 13th at 7:00 PM at Immanuel E. Lutheran Church, 350 S. Helena St. Campbellsport. Rev. Paul Cerny will officiate and entombment will be Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 PM until time of services at the church. Memorials are appreciated to Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.
