James B. Murphy, 94, formerly of Eden died at St. Francis Home on Wed. July 13, 2011 where he had been a resident for the past 7 months. He was born in the town of Eden on Feb. 15, 1917, the third son of Charles and Sarah Daley Murphy. On May 25, 1949, Jim married Mildred Kraus at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. The farming operation he and his wife started in the Eden area became Murph-Ko Farms operated now by his son and grandsons. Jim was a member of Holy Family Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters St. Mary’s Court in Eden. Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife Millie of 62 years, one son Tom (Patty) Murphy of Eden, two daughters: Ann (Stan) Smith of Fond du Lac and Jean (Jim) Ziegler of Eden, 8 grandchildren: Duane, Scott (Erin), Steve and Brian Murphy, Stacy and Julie Smith, Jim (Melissa) and Sarah (Nate Heisler) Ziegler, 5 great grandchildren: Dillon Smith, Deszray, Kaity, Skylar and Kyle Murphy, 3 step grandchildren: Stacey (Mike) Loof, Stephany (Adam) Hettwer and Marcey (Nick) Laudolff, 9 step- great grandchildren:, 4 sisters-in-law: Dorothy Murphy, Esther Schumacher, Bernice (Delbert) Sabel and Mary Kraus and 3 brothers-in-law: Elmer Sabel, Lawrence (Marie) Kraus and Clarence (Sara) Kraus and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers John, Leo and Ambrose Murphy. Liturgy of the Word will be on Sat. July 16, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home at 305 Fond du Lac Avenue with Deacon Larry Hughes officiating and burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Eden. Friends may call on Sat July 16th from 11AM until 1 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the St. Francis Terrace and Home for all their love and care of Jim.
