Francis L. Hall, 87, of Lomira went to his heavenly home Sunday July 24, 2011 at the Hope Health and Rehab Center in Lomira. He was born in Campbellsport on July 13, 1924 the son of the late John and Ruth (nee Lade) Hall. Francis served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the Pacific Theatre and with the Army of Occupation in Japan. On June 27, 1951 Francis married Myrtle Steffes at St. Claudius Church in St. Cloud. Myrtle preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 2002. He farmed all his life and drove bus for 31 years. Francis was a member of the Sons of Zebedee St. John’s Church, Byron where he served as a lecture and communion minister and on the Church Council for 12 years. He was a member of the Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post # 347 in Lomira and a founder and member of the Waupun Prison City Square Dancers and the Country Swingers in Huilsburg. Francis loved dancing, horses, traveling and rodeos. Survivors include his sons Robert F. (Ruth) of Fond du Lac, Stephen L. (Barb) of Horicon, Joseph A. (Bonnie) of Appleton, Arthur of Madison, Edward of Madison and Daniel of Lomira, his daughters Sharon A. (Larry) Paul of Fond du Lac, Geralyn Hall of Rosendale and Ann Hall of Lodi, fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, his sister Harriet (Andy) Salzer of Arizona, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Roland and Sally Steffes of St. Cloud, Julian and Rosemary Steffes of St. Cloud, Paul and Martha Steffes of New Berlin, Ralph and Darlene Steffes of La Crosse, Dorlene Kleinfeldt of Plymouth, Marge Steffes of Kiel and Shirley Steffes of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Along with his wife Myrtle, he was preceded in death by his daughter Therese, his granddaughter Kathy Ann and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ray Ryan, Cletus Steffes, David Steffes, Angie and John Burg and Orvin Kleinfeldt. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thusday July 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Sons of Zebedee St John’s Church, Byron (W5882 Church Rd. Fond du Lac). Rev. John Schmitz will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday July 27th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport and on Thursday July 28th from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church. Memorials are appreciated to Hope Health and Rehab Center or Sons of Zebedee Parish.
