Gertrude Selma Scheid

Gertrude S. Scheid, 85, formerly of Campbellsport passed away Saturday August 13, 2011 at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum where she has resided the past several years. She was born in Theresa on October 19, 1925, the daughter of the late Richard and Amanda Kluge Giese. On June 9, 1948, Gertrude married Raymond M. Scheid at Zion Lutheran Church in Theresa. She worked at the West Bend Company and was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Campbellsport and the Dorcas Society. Gertrude and Ray greatly enjoyed square dancing and belonged to several square dancing clubs. She also was an avid gardener and enjoyed baking sewing, playing cards and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters Jane (Richard) Gnadt of Wisconsin Dells and Charlene (Leroy) Heider of West Bend, her grandchildren Kathryn Rae Gnadt and Albert Gnadt, her brother Almond Giese of Brownsville, her sisters-in-law Helen Giese of Mayville, Gladys Giese of West Bend, Janet (Curtis) Bastian of West Bend, Garnet (Donald) Schneider of West Bend, Verna (Frank) Sasek of Milwaukee and Beverly (Mike) Karch of Richfield, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray on November 8, 2005, seven brothers Clarence, Alex, Harvey, Herbert, Erhardt, Palmer and Rufus and a sister Eleanora. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 PM on Wednesday August 17th at Immanuel E. Lutheran Church, 350 S. Helena St. Campbellsport. Rev. Paul Cerny will officiate and burial will be Thursday August 18th at 10:00 AM in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport. Visitation will be Wednesday August 17th from 3:00 PM until time of service at the church. Memorials are appreciated to Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.
