Lois Ruth Straub

Lois R. Straub, 85, joined her husband Norman and her daughter Patti in eternal rest on Friday October 7, 2011 at her home. She was born in Campbellsport on July 26th, 1926 the daughter of Harold C. and Doris Mae (nee Wrucke) Johnson. On April 12th, 1947, Lois married Norman P. Straub in Campbellsport. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1998. Lois worked for Charles Vande Zande doing housework, then at the Woolen Mills during WW II weaving Army blankets from looms, then for a short time at Regalware, then for 14 years at the West Bend Company as a floor inspector and then at the Gas Hut until retiring. Lois loved playing practical jokes and telling jokes. She enjoyed playing sheepshead and all card games. She also enjoyed her flower gardens and watching her humming birds. Lois was an avid sports fan including basketball, football and baseball but her favorite pastime was going to the casino. Survivors include her children Jim Straub, Sandy (Jerry) Thomas, Barbara (Dennis) Sarauer all of Campbellsport, Joe Straub of Cleveland, Steve (Laurie) Straub, Angel (Chuck) Seegert both of West Bend, and John (Brenda) Straub of Plymouth, her grandchildren Jake Straub, Deena and Jeff Thomas, Debbie Mulvey, Julie Goyette, Sherie Drees, Corey, Greg and Doug Straub, Scott, Josh and Matthew Straub, Amanda DeRuyter, Trisha Faber and Casey, Dakin and Brady Straub, nineteen great grandchildren, her brothers Donald (Laverne) Johnson and George (Dorothy) Johnson, her sisters Mildred Kreif, Fern Kreif, Darlene Shaudvitis, and Evelyn DeSchmidt, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Patricia, a brother Norman Johnson, a sister Faye Wallenfelz and brothers-in-law Milton Kreif, Jery Kreif, Leonard Shaudvitis, and Bob Wallenfelz. In accord with her wishes, a private memorial service is planned by her family. Memorials are appreciated to Heartland Hospice.
