Darlene I. Kuehl, 87, of West Bend died Friday Dec. 9, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital, West Bend. She was born on Jan. 19, 1924 in Fond du Lac Co. the daughter of Lewis and Inez (nee Loomis) Tonn. She married Elmer Kuehl on April 15, 1944 at the Salem Ev. Reformed Church in the Town of Wayne. In her younger years, she loved to dance to polkas, play cards and put puzzles together. She was active in many card clubs. She was for many years an avid gardener, who loved taking care of all her beautiful flowers. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Campbellsport for many years. She is survived by her sons: Robert(Karen) of Granite Falls, NC and John (Carrie) of Random Lake, 8 grandchildren: Anne (David) Rigsby of GA, Krista (Luke) Conley of NC, Rob (Natasha) Kuehl of NC, Amber (Jason) Seth of Fond du Lac, Kyle, Desiree, Destin and Kierra Kuehl of Random Lake, 10 great grandchildren, and one step grandson. She is further survived by her twin brother Darwin Tonn, one sister Shirley Butzke both of Campbellsport and one sister-in-law Virginia Tonn of Plymouth and many special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Elmer on July 8, 1977, one brother Ronald, sister-in-law Jane Tonn, brother-in-law Raymond Butzke, sisters/brothers-in-law: Roman and Leona Kuehl, Marvin and Celeste Kuehl, Pearl and Winonea Strean, Lester Kuehl and 4 infant children. Funeral services will be Sunday Dec. 18th at 1:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport. Rev. Paula Anderson will officiate. Entombment will be Monday Dec. 19th at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. Visitation will be Sunday Dec. 18th from 11:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
