Dorothy J. Henkes, 83, of Fond du Lac entered eternal life on Saturday Dec. 17, 2011 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. She was born on May 20, 1928 in Racine, WI, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Henkes. Dorothy was a graduate from St. Catherine’s High School in Racine in 1946 and the Marquette University School of Medical Technology in 1952. Dorothy was employed by St. Agnes Hospital and Consultants Laboratory. She retired from Consultants Laboratory in 1990. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish, St. Mary’s Church. Dorothy was a professed member of Secular Franciscan Order and served several offices in the Order. She was a member of the Association of American Society of Clinical Pathology, American Society of Medical Technology, Wisconsin Association of Medical Technology, and a former member of St. Anne Mission Group of St. Louis Church and St. Francis Nursing Home. Survivors include special friends George and Pat Feudner of Fond du Lac, Henry and Susie O’Neill of Waupaca, Ken and Debra Beattie of Greenfield, and Jean Kedinger of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Margaret in 1946 and one brother Arthur Henkes and Arthur’s wife Margaret. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday Dec. 20th at 6:00 PM at Holy Family Parish St. Mary’s Church 63 E. Merrill Street. Burial will take place the Wednesday Dec. 21st at Calvary Cemetery in Racine. Visitation will be Tuesday Dec. 20th from 4 to 6 PM at the church.
