Sister Corita Schmitt, SSSF, 88, passed away Friday Jan. 6, 2012 at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport. She was born on May 12, 1923 in Tipton, MO, the daughter of William and Carrie (nee Hartman) Schmitt. Sister joined the School Sisters of St. Francis on June 13, 1946 and professed her vows on June 21, 1948. Sister Corita served her community as communication operator at various community missions. Sister Corita is survived by nieces, nephews and the School Sisters of St. Francis Community with whom she shared her life for 65 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Jan.13, 2012 at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Convent, 526 Mill St. Campbellsport. Burial will follow in Sisters Cemetery, Campbellsport.
