Sister Jane Hilger, SSSF, “Sister Esdra”, 92 passed away Sunday Jan. 22, 2012 at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport. She was born in Lannon on Sept. 26, 1919 the daughter of the late William J and Amelia (nee Stark) Hilger. On June 13, 1936 she joined the School Sisters of St. Francis and professed her vows on Aug. 12, 1938. Sister served her community as a teacher at various community missions. Sister Jane is survived by her sisters Rita Hilger Ferris of Menasha and Sharon Stuettgen of Pewaukee, her brothers William Hilger of Hartland and Joseph Hilger of Pewaukee, nieces, nephews and the School Sisters of St. Francis Community with whom she shared her life for 76 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Jan.27, 2012 at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Convent, 1515 S. Layton Blvd. Milwaukee. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Milwaukee. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Convent, 526 Mill St. Campbellsport and on Friday from 11:00AM until time of Mass.
