Gary L. Newton, 69, of Fond du Lac passed away Saturday Feb. 25, 2012 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. He was born on Nov. 18, 1942 in Fond du Lac the son of Nile and Alice (nee Mengel) Newton. On Feb. 8, 1964 he married Diane Trader at Kincheloe Air Force Base in Kinross, MI. Gary served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1980 and then worked for St. Agnes Medical Imaging for 24 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, having cocktails on the deck and watching Wisconsin Badger Football and the Green Bay Packers but most of all he loved to spend time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Diane, his daughter Dawn (Dan) Treptow of Fond du Lac, his son Christopher (Danielle) Newton of Fond du Lac, his grandchildren Jake Treptow, Alexis Newton and Olivia Newton, his brothers and sisters Charlene “Chuckie” (Paul) Gau of Fond du Lac, Eugene (Alice) Newton of Fond du Lac, Dale Newton of Rosendale, Kathy (Bob) Beltezore of Fond du Lac and Ken (Mary) Newton of Oakfield, his brother-in-law Carl Trader of Fond du Lac, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters-in-law Carol Trader and Patty Newton. Private family services will be held at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum Chapel in Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. Rev. Michael Petersen will officiate and Military Rites will follow.
