Sister Bernice Salm, SSSF, “Sister Benignus” 86, passed away Sunday March 25, 2012 at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport. Sister was born on December 3, 1925 in Chilton, the daughter of the late George and Emma Koehler Salm. On June 13, 1942 she joined the School Sisters of St. Francis and professed her vows on June 21, 1944. Sister served her community as a teacher and musician at various community missions. Sister Bernice is survived by her sisters Sr. Mary Patrick Salm and Jeanette Lynch, her brother Lester Salm, other relatives and the School Sisters of St. Francis Community with whom she shared her life for 70 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday March 28, 2012 at 1:30 PM at St. Joseph Convent, 526 Mill St. Campbellsport. Burial will follow in Sisters Cemetery, Campbellsport.
