Melvin Allen Kertscher

December 20, 1942 — April 16, 2012

Melvin Kertscher, 69, of Campbellsport went to his heavenly home on Mon. April 16, 2012 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born in West Bend, WI on Dec. 20, 1942 the son of the late Melvin and Bernice Stemper Kertscher. Melvin graduated from Random Lake High School in 1960. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1960 until 1964. On May 14, 1966 he married Rita Jacky at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Dacada, WI. He owned and operated Vista Sales Inc. He was a member of the Fond du Lac American Legion Post #75. He was a former member of the Kettle Kruisers Snowmobile Club from 1978 until 1988. He coached baseball from 1978 until 1990 for the Long Lake Baseball Association. He loved his grandchildren and loved to ride his Honda Trike. . Survivors include his wife Rita, his mother Bernice of West Bend, 3 sons: Jim (Kay) of Sheboygan, Bill (Traci) and Rick (Shannon) both of Fond du Lac, one daughter Kim (Nick) Konen of St. Cloud, six grandchildren: Kyle, McKayla, Emma, Spencer, Abby Kertscher and Maci Konen, 4 brothers: Ron (Joan) of Hot Springs,Arkansas, Floyd (Helen) of Campbellsport, Larry of West Bend and Robert (Vicki) of Milwaukee and twin sisters: Jean Mansfield of Green Bay and Joyce Haeuser of Kewaskum, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. A Prayer Service will be held on Thurs. April 19th at 6:30 PM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 Hwy B Eden. Rev. Joseph Juknialis will officiate. Visitation will be Thurs. April 19th from 3:00 PM until 6:30 PM at the church and military rites at 3:00 PM at the church performed by the American Legion Post #75. Memorials may be directed to Fond du Lac American Legion Post #75. Twohig Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, is serving the family.
