Burr “Bo” A. Marchant, 90, of Rosendale, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the Tower View Villa in Rosendale. He was born on August 21, 1921, in the Village of Rosendale, the son of Tom and Dorothy Marchant. On October 16, 1943, Bo married Ruth A. Lyness, together they celebrated 66 years of marriage. He farmed for 24 years and then sold insurance for the next 20 years. After that he drove dump truck for Marchant Excavating for 21 years. Bo was an active member of the UCC church since 1934. He was also a Lions Charter Member since 1965 and was recognized as a Melvin Jones Award winner. He was also the first president of the AFS Club from 1974 to 1976. Survivors include his four sons: Barry (Jean) Marchant of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Brent (Jean) Marchant of Rosendale, B. J. (Janel) Marchant of Campbellsport and Brad (Louise) Marchant of Rosendale, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a brother Bruce of Rosendale and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth in 2010 and his daughter Bonnie Jean Marchant in 2007. Memorial services will be Saturday, May 5, at 1:30 PM at United Church of Christ, 204 West Division Street, Rosendale, with Rev. Wassell officiating. The visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. .
