Shirley Ann Strean

September 12, 1949 — June 10, 2012

Shirley Ann “Macka” Strean, 62, of Waucousta went to her heavenly home on Sunday June 10, 2012 at her home with her beloved family gathered around her. She was born the daughter of Elmer and Erma (nee Cappozzo) Gantner. On Oct. 28, 1972, Shirley married Roger R. Strean at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. Shirley worked at the West Bend Co. for 10 years and then was involved in the family businesses including operating Strean’s Short Stop. She was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Campbellsport and was instrumental in forming and operating the BMX Club in Fond du Lac from 1997 to 2000. Shirley enjoyed watching her children’s and granddaughter’s activities, the Brewers and Nascar. Most important to Shirley was the time she spent with family and friends especially with her children and granddaughters. Shirley was affectionately given the name “Macka” by her first granddaughter and now was “Macka” to all her family. Survivors include her husband Roger, her sons Royal (Carrie) and Daniel (special friend Katie Klotz) all of Waucousta, her granddaughters Rachel Ann, Megan Kay and Sarah Joan, her mother Erma of Eden, her sisters and brothers Judie (Bill) Lee, Patty (Ken) Rickert, Jim (Jeannine) Gantner, Jerry Gantner, Mike (Diane) Gantner all of Fond du Lac, Linda Crofts (special friend Mike Meisner) of Eden, Tom (Chris) Gantner of Fond du Lac and Lisa (Bob) Schommer of Eden, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Allan and Sheila Strean, Duane and Carol Strean, Sharon and Wesley Searl and Kevin and Tracy Johnson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra and her father Elmer. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 13, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 350 S. Helena St. Campbellsport. Rev. Paul Cerny will officiate and burial will be Thursday at 10:00 AM in Union Cemetery Campbellsport. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 PM until time of services at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church. Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, is serving the family with online guestbook and condolences at www.twohigfunerals.com. Roger, Roy, Carrie, Dan and Katie extend a special thank you to Shirley’s sisters and Agnesian Hospice for their loving care of Shirley during these last few months.
