John Osterman, 70, of Campbellsport passed away peacefully on Sat. June 23, 2012 at his home with his beloved family gathered around him. He was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 18, 1942, the son of Frank Jacob and Milda Erna Agnes (nee Braatz) Osterman. On Nov. 27, 1964, John married the love of his life Carol Ann Reno at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stevens Point. John taught junior high school from 1964 to 1969 in Augusta (Eau Claire County). He also coached high school baseball and junior high basketball. In 1969 the family moved to Campbellsport (Fond du Lac County) where he continued to teach and coach until retiring in 2002. Upon retiring John joined the Campbellsport Volunteer Fire Department where he became an EMT. John’s favorite pastimes were fishing, model railroading, camping and playing with his grandchildren, which he enjoyed until his passing. Survivors include his wife Carol, his daughters Pamela Jean (Edwin) Gaines, Karen Lynn (Scott) Rajek, and Heather Marie (David) Griesbach, his sons Robert John Osterman and Scott Alan Osterman, his grandchildren Rachel Gaines, Carol Ann Gaines, Jamie Rajek, Danielle Rajek, Samantha Rajek, Jonathan Rajek, Arwen Hope Griesbach and Amara Grace Griesbach, his brothers Joseph Osterman, Jerald Osterman, James Osterman and Jan Osterman, his sisters Judy Price and Jill Cull and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and older sisters Jean Licitar and Joan Nitke Visitation will be Tues. June 26th from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and Wed. June 27th from 9:00 AM until time of services at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport. Funeral services will be Wed. June 27th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
