LeRoy C. Walters, 73, of Fond du Lac passed away Sunday July 29, 2012 at home. He was born in the Town of Forest on January 29, 1939 the son of the late Roy and Catherine Wuest Walters. LeRoy served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964 stationed in Ft. Leonard-wood, MO. On Dec. 15, 1976 he married Judi Myers at the Fond du Lac Courthouse. He was an inspector for 36 ½ years at Mercury Marine until retiring in 2000. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac. LeRoy was a member of the Fond du lac Senior Center, very active on the Friends Board, Advisory Board, Raffle Committee, Brat Fry, Bike Rides, head of the Golf League and Pool League. He was a member of the 1947 Machinist Retiree Club and the American Legion Post #75. He drove van for Brooke Industries for many years. Survivors include his wife Judi, his four daughters: Linda Walters-Kaphengst, Rachel (Fiancee Dale Dobbratz) Walters, Lisa (Tom) Pollard all of Fond du Lac and Sarah (Kurt) Zepezauer of Elkhorn, three sons: John (Julie) of Chilton, Jeffery (Michele) of Fond du Lac and Jim (Carla) of Burnsville, MN, 11 grandchildren: Katie (Ben) Thelen of Milwaukee, Tom Walters of Chilton, Adam and Alex Kaphengst of Fond du Lac, Emilee Walters, Jordan and Nic NaSal of Burnsville, MN, Brandon and Colin Walters of Fond du Lac, Shelby and Bryce Schuppe of Fond du Lac and Zachary and Megan Pollard of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by his sister Arlene (Maurice) Immel of Fond du Lac, 2 brothers-in-law: Jim (Betty) Myers of Two Rivers and John (Earline) Myers of Memphis, his sisters-in-law: Janis Minaker of Two Rivers, Lee Myers of Oakfield, June Pipkin, Michaelin Walters, Jackie Nett all of Fond du Lac and special sister-in-law Jamie Myers who lived for many years with Leroy and Judi, God mother Cele Roehrig formerly of Dotyville, now Ripon, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends and 3 dogs and one cat. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Donald, sisters-in-law: Helen Myers, Ida “Toots” Walters, Jeanne (Lloyd) Zich and brothers-in-law: Francis Feltman, Russell Minaker, Jay (Joanne) Myers and Bucky Myers. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 4th at 1:00 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 855 Martin Ave. Fond du Lac. Rev. Brett Naumann and Rev. Matthew Reis will officiate and military rites to follow by the Trier Puddy American Legion Post #75. Visitation will be Saturday Aug.4th from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church.
