LaVerne R. Reinecke, 92, of Fond du Lac died peacefully Aug. 7, 2012 at the Hospice Home of Hope. She was born May 15, 1920 in Town of Rhine, Sheboygan County, the daughter of Walter and Lydia Strassburger Reineck. She married Harold A. Reinecke on May 3, 1941 at St. Paul’s Reformed Church in the Town of Rhine. LaVerne was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church since 1948. She was a volunteer at the Galloway House and Village and the Red Cross Blood Mobile, member of the Green Thumb Garden Club, U. Extension Homemakers, Senior Center, the German Club and she headed the poll workers of Ward 12. She enjoyed water aerobics and playing cards, belonging to a Sheepheads Card Club for over 60 years. LaVerne loved spending time with her family and friends, dancing, reading, traveling and crafts. Her friends will remember her for her sweetness, fabulous smile and kindness. Survivors include her son John (Barb) Reinecke of Town of Byron, her daughters: Judy (Mike) Jaber of Fond du Lac and JoAnne (Mark) Jaber of Easton, MD, 8 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Lydia Reineck, her husband Harold A. Reinecke, her father and mother-in-law Erwin and Irene Reinecke, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ted and LaVerne Reinecke, and Robert and Bernice Reinecke. Funeral services will be held Friday Aug. 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Hope Lutheran Church, 260 Vincent Street Fond du Lac with Rev. Steve Huff officiating and entombment to follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park. Friends and family may call on Friday at the church from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
