Joseph D. Moser, 96, of West Bend went to his heavenly home on Saturday Aug. 25, 2012 at the Lighthouse of West Bend. He was born on Feb. 8, 1916 in Alco, Colorado the son of the late David and Mary Girardi Moser. Joseph became an orphan at the age 8 along with his 8 siblings, they attended Mooseheart School in Illinois. Mooseheart was a vocational school and Joe was quite an athlete in figure skating and football. On June 24, 1939 he married Margaret T. Rohlinger at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport. Joe served his country in World War II in the Army from 1942 until 1945, he was in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Joe worked at Gehl Manufacturing for 43 years and retired from there. Joe and his wife Marge made rosaries, quilts, Stations of the Cross and other items for missions in Nicaragua. Joe was an avid deer hunter and loved to go fishing. He made most of his fishing lures. Joe could build or fix anything and had a great garden. Survivors include his brother Mike Crowley of New Jersey, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marge, and seven siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday Aug. 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, corner of Main and Helena Streets Campbellsport. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate with cremation to follow and inurnment in the parish cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 AM until time of mass at the church.
