Betty Fazen, age 86, of Campbellsport, passed away October 8, 2012 at St. Francis Terrace, Fond du Lac. Betty was born January 27, 1926 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Paul and Elsie Blodgett. Betty spent most of her life in West Allis, WI, graduating from John Dewey Junior High School and Central High School. She worked at Harley Davidson, and married Robert J. Fazen (“Deacon Bob”) on October 9, 1943. Bob and Betty raised 4 sons in West Allis and moved to Campbellsport in 1989. Deacon Bob and Betty were active at Holy Assumption Church, West Allis and St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Campbellsport. Betty served the church, supporting and organizing numerous programs and activities. She loved dogs, cats and movies; was an outstanding Bridge player; a self-taught organist and an avid sports fan, following sport activities of her husband and sons and enthusiastically supporting the Bucks, Brewers and Packers. She was preceded in death by husband Bob and survived by sons Robert (Lynn), James (Chris), John (Janet) and Matthew; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family; friends; parishioners of Holy Assumption and St. Matthew's Church; and the doctors, nurses, staff and residents of St. Francis Hospital, Home and Terrace in Fond du Lac. Viewing will be from 4-7PM, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 406 E. Main St., Campbellsport and from 10AM - 12PM, Thursday, October 11, 2012, prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 12PM. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate and interment will take place at the St. Matthew’s Cemetery immediately following the mass.
