Sister Rita Wiegand, SSSF, “Sister Barbarine”, 88, passed away Sunday Nov. 18, 2012 at St. Joseph Convent, Campbellsport. She was born on Sept. 23, 1924 in Petersburg, NE the daughter of the later Henry and Barbara Kunzman Wiegand. Sister joined the School Sisters of St. Francis on June 13, 1944 and professed her vows on June 21, 1946. She served her community as a teacher at various community missions. Sister Rita is survived by her sister Carol McDermott, her nieces and nephews and the School Sisters of St. Francis Community with whom she shared her life for 68 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wed. Nov. 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Convent, 526 Mill St. Campbellsport. Burial will follow in Sisters Cemetery, Campbellsport. Visitation and wake service will begin at 8:30 AM Wed. Nov. 21st at St. Joseph Convent.
