Mary Hanora Chapin, 96 of Deerview Meadows Assisted Living, Fond du Lac passed away Thursday Jan. 17, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. She was born on March 19, 1916 in St. Peter, the daughter of Fredrick and Hanora Mand Koenigs. In 1938, she married Delbert E. Chapin Sr. at St. Joseph’s Rectory in Fond du Lac. Mary and Delbert lived all their life in the Fond du Lac area, they raised a family of seven children and enjoyed many grand, great grand and great great grandchildren. Survivors include her sons: Delbert E. Jr. and Charles (Jaymie) both of Fond du Lac and James (Mary) of St. Croix Falls, three daughters: Marlene Schmitt of Manitowoc, Darlene Vollmer and Judith (Richard Sr.) LaPine both of Fond du Lac, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Elizabeth (Lester) Andersen of FL and one brother Francis (Elaine) Koenigs of Brookfield, one brother-in-law John Resheske of Oshkosh, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends at Deerview Meadows Assisted living where Mary lived for the last eight years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Delbert Sr, her daughter Caroline Spallas, three granddaughters, two grandsons, two son-in-laws, one daughter-in-law, one grandson-in-law, three brothers: Joseph, Michael and Herman Koenigs, nine sister-in-laws and ten brother-in-laws. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 2PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave., Fond du Lac with burial to follow at Rienzi Cemetery.
