Rita Schug Bachop, born, raised, and married in Yonkers, NY, moved to St. Clare Terrace, Fond du Lac, WI in 2008, has died January 25, 2013 at the age of 85. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frances Kruppenbacher Schug, husband, William, of 55 years, sister, Sr. Mary Frances Schug, CSA, and brother, Fr. John Schug, Capuchin. She is mother of 11: Martin, Anne, Frank, Michael, Dorothy (Nick), Richard (Nancy), Thomas, Joseph (Roberta), Stephen, Mary Monahan (Kevin), and the youngest, Bruce, who died in 1995. Rita is grandmother of five: Matthew, Alexis, Kjersti Ulvestad Schanker, Melissa Marenfeld, and Elliott. She is survived by two sisters, Frances Grace, and Sr. Emily, CSA, both residing in Fond du Lac. Rita attended Yonkers Sacred Heart High School and New York College of Mt. St. Vincent, graduating with a degree in Nursing. Rita’s prior residence was Ocala, FL. Rita was a member of the Secular Franciscan Third Order for 47 years. While in Fond du Lac she was a Eucharistic Minister, lector, member of the resident choir at St. Clare’s, leader of song at St. Francis Home Chapel, and a volunteer at St. Francis Nursing Home. The funeral mass will be at St. Francis Home Chapel, 33 Everett St. Fond du Lac, WI on February 1, 2013 at 2 p.m. A Secular Franciscan Crown Rosary will be recited a half-hour before mass in the chapel.
