Diane B. Peterson, 78, of Greenfield passed away Thur. March 7, 2013 at Ruth Hospice House in West Allis. She was born on July 13, 1934 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Richard and Elsie Buege Nichols. Diane was a 1951 graduate of West Division High School. She married Harold E. Peterson on July 25, 1953 in Milwaukee. They made their home first in Brookfield and later on 97th and National Avenue. In 1977 Diane graduated from MATC with a degree in accounting, which she treasured because she received it at the same time her daughter Gianna graduated from MATC. Upon retirement Harold and Diane traveled extensively and were snowbirds in Florida for over 20 years. Diane loved her family and going out to eat. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, plastic canvas, cribbage, and bingo. She was generous and yet loved a bargain. She was a member of St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church, Wilson Senior Center and the Red Hats. Survivors include her daughter Gianna Wachholz and her husband Paul Ehlert of Fond du Lac, one son Brian (Jennifer) Peterson of Minneapolis, MN, 5 grandchildren: Carissa (Kurt) Ewald of Ripon, Alyssa (Brian Nelson) Wachholz, of Kaukauna and Melissa Wachholz of Green Lake, Henning and Soren Peterson and 2 great granddaughters Ellie and Quinn Ewald, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold in 2002, an infant daughter, 4 sisters: Gene Mohr, Grace Chindamo, Shirley Geisler and Vivian Czapowski and 2 brothers: Richard and Howard Nicols. Memorial services will be held Saturday Mar. 16th at 2:30 PM at St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church. at 6101 S. 51st Street Greenfield with Rev. Gail Brodersen-Heins officiating. Friends may call at the church from 1:30 until 2:30 PM. Memorials are appreciated to St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church.
