Evelyn E. Thelen (nee Brath) , 98, born in Eden, WI, moved to the General Store in Ashford, WI where she lived for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Alex, and by her daughter, Alice. She is survived by two children, Art in Chicago, IL and Mary Jane in Denver, CO. Evelyn and Alex moved to Valparaiso, IN; worked at Shellbourne Conference Center where Alex died. Evelyn moved to Fond du Lac in 1981 and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, the Foster Grandparents Program and helped with Broken Bread and the Cooking Club of St. Mary Church. For the past 7 years she's lived in a nursing home run by the Little Sisters of the Poor in Chicago. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Saturday March 23rd at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Ashford and burial will follow in the parish cemetery with visitation at the Church one hour before Mass. Rev. Neil Zinthefer will officiate. In lieu of flowers have Masses said for her and give donations to any of the organizations she was connected with including St. Martin’s Church.
