Elizabeth Ann Boyle, age 89 passed away peacefully with her family abound at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac on Thurs. April 4, 2013. She was born on May 2, 1923 the daughter of John and Florence Veronica (Moore) Jagfeld in Fond du Lac, WI. Elizabeth married Attorney Howard Henry Boyle Jr. on August 5, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN. He preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1991. At 5’4” she was a giant of Irish spirit, a fiercely protective, unconditionally loving and dynamic mother. She was a genius to raise 11 children and maintain her sanity. She was an accomplished golfer (twice runner up for the Women’s championship at Old Hickory Golf Club). She is survived by her eight children: Suzanne Boyle of Fond du Lac, Michael Dennis Boyle of Green Bay, Timothy Patrick (Cathy) Boyle of Fond du Lac and Daniel Moore Boyle of Beaver Dam, Katherine Elizabeth Boyle of Eagle River, Mary Megan (Peter) Henry of Fond du Lac, Mary Moira (Charles) Gerdes of Moline, IL and Mary Bridget (James) Statz of Madison, 13 grandchildren: Erinn (Alex Mayral) Boyle-Mayral, Brooke (Bob) Boyle-Schneider, Nicholas, Thomas and Elizabeth Baertschy, Casey and Miranda Knutson, Cecelia (Jess Durham) Henry and Sophia Henry, Andrew Gerdes, Jack, Howie and Fiona Statz, 3 great grandchildren: Ian and Nora Boyle-Mayral and Kabrea Treleven. She is further survived by one sister Mary Jane (Robert) Ferguson of Cincinnati, OH, nieces, nephews and many other dear friends including Jayde Grahl who was like an adopted daughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 2 sons: Peter Tare and James Kevin and one daughter Mary Margaret “Molly” Knutson and one granddaughter Ellen Statz. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday May 20th, 2013 at 10AM at Calvary Cemetery Chapel at 686 Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du Lac with Fr. Ed Sippel officiating.
