Rita Mae Luedtke, 67, of Fond du Lac died on Mon. Oct. 14, 2013 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. She was born on Nov. 12, 1945 in Campbellsport, the daughter of the late Walter W. and Lillian Steiner Luedtke. Rita graduated in 1963 from Campbellsport High School. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church-Sacred Heart Parish and attended the Tuesday evening Bread of Life Bible Study. Eucharistic Adoration was one of her most treasured experiences. Rita was a member of the Gratitude Club and a friend of Bill W. Over the years, she volunteered for the hotline at the Winnebagoland Central Office. She was a past member of the Fond du Lac Writers Club and was involved in many artistic endeavors. A devoted mother and grandmother, Rita provided childcare for all four of her grandchildren for more than 23 years. She was an avid cook, baker, artist and writer. Rita had a passion for music and inspired that talent in her children and grandchildren. She was a licensed cosmetologist, certified nursing assistant and educated in Early Childhood Development. An advocate for the poor and underprivileged, Rita volunteered for many causes. She courageously fought and survived many battles with her health concerns through family support, prayer and a strong faith in God. Her faith and devotion to God was central to all she did in life. Regular visits to Holy Hill, Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine in LaCrosse, and Our Lady of Good Help Shrine in Door County were precious to her. Rita is survived by two daughters: Michele (Brian) Serwe of Campbellsport and Angela Turner of Whitefish Bay, four grandchildren: Alexa Serwe, John, Michael and Sarah Turner, one sister Shirley Elwing of Springfield, MO, one aunt Joan Kleppe of IL and many nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister June (Hiroshi) Odoi, one brother-in-law Bill Elwing, two aunts: Maybelle (Frank) Adashun and Tess (Francis) McCarty. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sat. Oct. 19th, 2013 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church-Sacred Heart Parish at 200 S. Peters Ave., Fond du Lac.
