Florence R. Ringhand, 88, of Fond du Lac, passed away Sat. Dec. 7, 2013 at the Woodlands Senior Park. She was born Jan. 22, 1925 in Eden, the daughter of the late John and Viola Fitzpatrick Baumhardt. Florence attended Lafayette School in South Eden and graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1942. She supported the war effort as a welder at the Quick Freeze refrigeration plant until she married Harvey M. Ringhand on Oct. 2, 1943 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eden. She operated taverns in Waucousta and Eggersville for many years and also worked on carnivals with her family in the summers. She attended MPTC and received her LPN certificate in 1973 and worked at St. Agnes Hospital on the maternity ward and other units until she retired. Florence was a member of Holy Family Catholic Community and she loved to make quilts at St. Mary's Church. She also was a volunteer for St. Agnes Home Health-Hospice, St. Agnes Hospital Home Oxygen and the American Red Cross as a Fire Assistance Volunteer. Survivors include her son Timothy (Jane) Ringhand of Onalaska, her sister Irene Majerus of Fond du Lac, sister-in-law Sally Baumhardt of Eden, daughters-in-law Sharon Ringhand of Fond du Lac and Mary Pat Ringhand of Erie, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Harvey, Sr., sons Richard, Victor and Harvey, Jr., sister and brother-in-law Helen and John McCrory, brother and sister- in-law George and Jeanette Baumhardt, brother John "Ike" Baumhardt, brother-in-law John "Jack" Majerus and two grandchildren, Davina and Samuel Ringhand. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thur. Dec. 12th at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac with burial to follow at St. Charles Cemetery. Visitation will be Wed. Dec. 11th from 4 to 7 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave. Fond du Lac and on Thur. Dec. 12th from 9:30 AM until time of mass at Holy Family Catholic Church.
