Jamie Lu Myers, 66, of Fond du Lac passed away Wednesday Jan. 8, 2014 at her home. She was born in Manitowoc on August 3, 1947 the daughter of the late Alvin and Ada Kahrs Myers. Jamie worked for many years at Brookes Industry sorting and odd jobs. Because of Jamie's active involvement in swimming at the Fond du Lac YMCA the Special Olympics program was started in the late 60's. She went every Wednesday night with her special nephew Dana Nett for a date night for many years, rain or shine. She lived with her sister Judi (and the late LeRoy) Walters for 25 years and with her special nieces Rachel Dobbratz of Fond du Lac and Sarah Zepezauer of Elkhorn. Survivors include her three sisters: Judi Walters, Jackie Nett and June Pipkin all of Fond du Lac, her two brothers: Jim (Betty) Myers of Two Rivers and John (Earline) Myers of Hernado, MS, her sister-in-law Floralee Myers of Oakfield, many nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Jan "Bucky", Jay (Joanne), and Jerry Myers, sisters: Jeanne (Lloyd) Zich and Janis (Russell) Minaker, brothers-in-law: Francis Feltman and LeRoy Walters and sister-in-law Helen Myers. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 18, 2014 at 12:30 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 855 Martin Ave. Fond du Lac. Rev. Brett Naumann and Rev. Matthew Reis will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday Jan. 18th from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church.
