Clement J. Wettstein May 13, 1927 - February 25, 2014 Clement John Wettstein 86 of Oakfield passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Hospice Home of Hope surrounded by his family. Clem was born May 13, 1927 in the Town of Empire at his home, the son of Andrew Matthew Wettstein and Catherine Marie (Kramer) Wettstein. On May 27, 1947 he married Marion Elizabeth Goebel at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eden; Clem & Marion were married 66 years at the time of his death. Clem & Marion owned and operated Wettstein's Bar in Oakfield from 1961-1968, prior to that they operated the Tavern/Banquet Hall in Byron. Clem was a Deputy for the Village of Oakfield Police force Badge #727; he was also a volunteer member of the Oakfield Fire Dept. Clem drove semi for Spector Freight and also worked on the loading dock when his wife became very ill, after that he was with the Lomira School District and retired in 1991. Surviving Clem are his seven children; daughter Sharon (Harold) Franke of Oakfield, son James Wettstein of Oakfield, daughter Carol Pierstorff of Oakfield, son Lyle Wettstein of Appleton, son Joseph (Ann) Wettstein of Fond du Lac, son Gary (Kris) Wettstein of Oakfield and daughter Mary Kay Beau of Oakfield. Grandchildren Brian (Amy) Pierstorff & Craig (Jen) Pierstorff; Michael (Julie) Franke; Antoni "Toni" (Ryan) Waters, Thomas, Rachael, Jenna and Bethany Wettstein; Jennifer (Nate) Haberman, Joseph "Joey" Wettstein & Kelly Wettstein; Cassandra "Cassie" & Samantha "Sammy" Wettstein, Adam Tomesh, Alex Tomesh; Mitchell Beau; eleven great-grandchildren with one more expecting to join the family in May; brothers-in-law Jerome "Jerry" (Virginia) Goebel & Donald Goebel, a special niece Diane Holz, and many other relatives & friends. Clem was preceded in death by his wife who passed January 19, 2014, his parents, sisters Alice (Raymond) Braun, Dolores (Lawrence)Tonn, Laura (Herbert) Ebert & Kathleen (William)Majerus, brothers-in-law Robert Goebel, Kenneth Goebel, Francis Goebel, Joseph Goebel & Lawrence Goebel, and sisters-in-law Dorothy Schwulst, Cecilia Miller & RoseMary "Rosie" DeMotts. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the staff of the Cancer Center & Dr. Jones as well as the staff at the Hospice Home of Hope A visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 from 10:00-1:00 at Twohig Funeral Home 305 Fond du Lac Ave. Fond du Lac, WI. A celebration of Clem's life will be at 1:00 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Hospice Home of Hope.
