Bernard A. Wirkus died June 26, 2014. Ben was born on December 17, 1918, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Bernard J. and Stella (Freuen) Wirkus. On October 1, 1946, Ben married Eileen Murphy at St. Patrick's Church, Fond du Lac. He is survived by three sons and two daughters: Joseph B. Wirkus, and his children Camille and Wyatt; Thomas H. (Cathy) Wirkus, their daughter Erica (Bill) Floyd, and their children Carter and Olivia, their daughter Cristin (Bill) Becker and their children Liam and Chloe; Claire (Dean) Zakos, and their children Dave (Amanda) and Laura (Mike Lippold); Ellen Gorsuch, and her son, Greg; James A. (Karen) Wirkus, and their children Jessica Schlueter (Eric) and Alex. Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; his parents; and his siblings, Al Wirkus and Rita Rucks.
