Louise Mae Pesch

September 15, 1923 — March 14, 2015

Louise Mae Guida Pesch, 91,of Campbellsport, went to her heavenly home on March 14, 2015 at the St. Francis Home in Fond du Lac. She was born on September 15, 1923 to Vincent and Josephine Guida who emigrated to the US from southern Italy by way of Ellis Island. After spending several snowy winters in Cleveland, Vince said "Josie pack up the kids, we're moving to California." Louise attended Redwood City Sequoia High School and enrolled in San Mateo Junior College. After the outbreak of WW II, she enlisted in the Navy. She was stationed at Treasure Island with the rank of Seaman Second Class. It was near the end of the war that she met her future husband, John "Jack" Pesch, a Naval Lieutenant who was stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco. They were married on June 14, 1947 in San Mateo CA. In Campbellsport, she was active in the Woman's Club where she served as President. She was a Girl Scout Leader, supported the Campbellsport Public Library, participated in St. Matthews Families in Need program, among others. As the wife of the local dentist, she felt it was important to be committed to and support the local business community in Campbellsport. In 1977, she and her friend Lorraine Danielson started the Campbellsport Woman's Club Afternoon Bridge Marathon which is still active today. She was a member of the women's golf league at Camelot and enjoyed being on the Woman's Bowling League. She and her husband travelled extensively with friends and family, and she was not above saying no to a gambling junket in the Midwest. For years, she and her husband spent their winters in Tucson, Arizona with close and dear friends from the Campbellsport area. She was an avid reader and belonged to several book clubs. She is survived by her five children; John, Jr. (Ann), Patricia Fillman (Alan), Julie, Larry (Eileen), Mari Jo, (Audrey Lang); six granddaughters, Margaret, Katherine, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Eimile and Brighid, and two great grandchildren, Henry and Alice, and was a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, her brother Anthony and her parents. A special thank you to the outstanding caregivers at St. Francis Home, namely Kay Tucker, Dawn Engel and Hannah Tynan. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to The Campellsport Public Library, Milwaukee Rescue Mission or the Campbellsport Lions Club. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Sat. March 21st at 12:00 PM at St. Matthew's Church, 406 E. Main St. Campbellsport, with visitation from 9:00 AM until time of mass at the CHURCH. Rev.
