Louis "Bud" Holzman, age 92, of Fond du Lac died on Saturday May 23, 2015 at Grancare Nursing Home. He was born on May 13, 1923 (Mothers Day) on the homestead in the Township of Marshfield, the son of Louis and Edna (Carey) Holzmann. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp in Jan. 1942 serving thru 1945. He married MaryJane Gallagher on Oct. 8, 1946. He worked 34 years for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a fireman and engineer. He retired in 1982 and moved to St. Cloud, FL. He fought in the Golden Gloves during high school and also in the service. Louis was an avid dancer, bowler, fisherman and train enthusiast during retirement. Also, he was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Knights of Columbus in St. Cloud, FL, the Moose Lodge and had his pilot's license and enjoyed attending the EAA. His favorite TV shows were American Pickers, the Millionaire and Lawrence Welk and he liked to remind people to "keep a song in your heart". Survivors include his children: Jim Holzman of Kenai, AK, Dan (Michelle) Holzman of Fond du Lac, Nancy (Ron) Hodge of Austin, TX, Carol Holzman of Fond du Lac, Mike (Jean) Holzman of Fond du Lac and Judy (Ronnie) Antry of New Bern, NC, 11 grandchildren: Adam (Carol) Holzman, Brian (Heather) Holzman, Matthew (Tonya) Holzman, Sara Wise, Timothy Hodge, Kristin (Randy) Miller, Kathryn Hodge Merton, John (Jennifer) Holzman, Christine (fiancé Timothy Sandberg) Holzman, Christopher Antry and Charlotte Antry, 13 great grandchildren: Whitney Holzman, Kameron Mand, Keegan Holzman, Korbin Holzman, Emma Holzman, Addie Holzman, Bella Holzman, Lily Wise, Hailey Miller, Ashlyn Miller, Brielle Miller, Luke Merton and Ethan Merton and special friend Rita Moquin of Ocoee, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife MaryJane and 3 sisters Anna Marie McIntosh, Lorraine Hosking and infant sister Joyce. Visitation will be Thursday May 28th from 10:00 AM at Calvary Cemetery Chapel at 686 Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du Lac with funeral services at 11:00 AM at the Chapel with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery and lunch at the Holiday Inn. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Mt. Calvary Chapter of Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 72 Mt. Calvary, WI 53057.
