Robert H. Luchsinger, age 70, found peace and comfort suddenly on June 9, 2015 at his home in Brandon, WI. He was born on December 2, 1944 in Madison, WI, the son of Mathilda Wilhemena (nee Elmer) and Waldo Robert Luchsinger. Robert graduated from West High School in Madison in 1963. He then went on to study education at UW-Platteville. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1967. He later returned to UW-Platteville to earn his master's degree in Middle School Education in the 90's. He was proud that he taught for his entire 34 year career at Cherokee Heights Middle School in Madison; a school he had attended as a student when it first opened. He received several awards during his career and worked hard to improve the quality of education in the areas of history, literature and language arts. Robert loved all areas of history. Because of this, he was an avid collector and dealer of antiques, stamps, Indian artifacts and books. He enjoyed going to garage sales, auctions and estate sales for many years to find his treasures. He is survived by his three children Tracy Luchsinger, Jennifer (Michael) Cavalier and Greg Luchsinger and his grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister-in-law Verlis Luchsinger, nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous friends and associates. He was preceded in death by his parents Mathilda and Waldo and his brother Roland. According to Robert's wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Twohig Funeral Home, Fond du Lac, is serving the family with online guest book and condolences at www.twohigfunerals.com.
