David Anthony Pinto

March 18, 1942 — August 8, 2015

David A. Pinto, 73, of North Fond du Lac died on Saturday Aug. 8, 2015 at home in peace with caring family members at his side. He was born in Washington D.C. on Mar. 18, 1942, the son of Anthony and Luella Horton Pinto. They moved to Fond du Lac when David was a young child. He attended Goodrich High school and he married Janice Richardson on June 16, 1961 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. After starting their family, they moved to the village of North Fond du Lac. One of David's greatest gifts was his ability to draw, design and remodel their home with a uniqueness that is still talked about by those who spent many a memorable time there. His green thumb and skill with landscaping earned their yard a spot on the Garden Walk. David was a proud member of the Dynamics-a local band in Fond du Lac. The group, which included his brother Bill, was a huge success. David was a proud retiree of Mercury Marine, where he worked for over 30 years. David would tell many enjoyable stories of his employment there, which included his loved fellow employees-many of whom were his closest friends. To this day, his family can remember his appearance as he stepped out of the side door of Plant 17 and walked to the family car following the end of the shift whistle. Jan preceded David in death after 42 years of solid Christian marriage. They lived life to the absolute fullest and the family celebrates their newest reunion. David is survived by his daughter Jodi Schmidt of Fond du lac, two sons: Anthony (Chris) Pinto of Silverdale, WA and Dominic (Jean) Pinto of North Fond du Lac, one brother William (Barb) Pinto of Fond du Lac and three sisters: Ilene Van Gorder of Fond du Lac, Betty (Mike) Meyer of Fond du Lac and Linda (Dave) Wright of Racine, sister-in-law Joey McKay Neuman of Phoenix, AZ and brother-in-law Dennis (Sam) Richardson of North Fond du Lac. David and Jan were blessed with six grandchildren: Trevor Nolan, Kasey, David and Kelly Pinto and Cody and Samantha Pinto and their first great grandchild Harlow Rae Pinto and many beautiful nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janice and sister Rose Lee Rady of Adams, WI. . A Celebration of David's life will be Sat. Aug. 15th at 11:00 AM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du Lac with Rev. John Fuchs will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday Aug. 15th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Twohig Funeral Home. Memorials are appreciated to the Agnesian Hospice Hope Program, 430 E. Division St. Fond du Lac. David's sister Ilene (Sis), was an absolute godsend-spending every day at his home caring for him and assisting the family. She was instrumental in David living his final days in familiar surroundings.
