Robert Ecker, 85, of Fond du Lac passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, September 28, 2015 at his home. He was born on Jan. 6, 1930 in Fond du Lac, WI the son of Leo and Ruth Hamauer Ecker. He served his country in the U. S. Navy and then the Army reserves. He married Jane Stenz on June 7, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Robert worked for 35 years for the Soo Line Railroad. Robert and Jane loved trailer camping at Pearl Lake Campsite #79. He enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren camping in Redgranite. Survivors include his sons Bruce and Steve (Gail), his daughter Susan (Roger) Lont all of Fond du Lac, his grandchildren Ryan(Lee) Jordan, Josie Dowler, Brittany(Justin) Marsh, Colin and Christina Ecker, his five great grandsons: Quentin Salazar, Miles Jordan, Joss Krueger, Michael and Maxwell Marsh, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jane on Dec. 27, 2008 and his sister and brother-in-law Judy and Dennis Murphy. Private family services will be held and cremation has taken place.
