Royal G. “Bud” Schrubbe, 85, of Long Lake (Campbellsport) passed away peacefully Monday February 15, 2016 at his home. He was born on May 29, 1931 in Wauwatosa the son of Roy A. and Elsie (Wirth/Walsh) Schrubbe. He was baptized and attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milwaukee and and attended Milwaukee Public Schools and graduated from West Division High School in 1949. After high school, Bud worked with his father in the sheet metal business until he enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War. He served in Texas, attended West Coast University in California and became an instructor in airframe repair and returned to Texas. He served in Okinawa and was discharged a Staff Sergeant from Lincoln, NE Air Force Base. He became a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 24/18 and was honored as a 60 year member.
Bud married Irene Lutjeharms on December 11, 1955 and they joined Methodist Churches in Butler and Menomonee Falls, and after retirement and moving to Long Lake in Fond du Lac County Tabor Methodist Church, Eden. Two sons were born to them Royal Gregory and Jeffrey Frazer.
Survivors include his wife Irene, son Jeffrey (special friend Sheri Kriehn) Schrubbe, daughter-in-law Bernadette Schrubbe, grandchildren Jennifer Schrubbe-Gaffney, Jacqueline Schrubbe, Nicholas Schrubbe and Nathan Schrubbe, step-grandson Michael Carroa, 7 great grandchildren, a great great grandson, brother-in-law Joe (Mickey) Lutjeharms, sister-in-law Marjorie Peters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, son Royal in 2003, brothers John (Katherine) Walsh, Edwin (Velma) Walsh, James Walsh and Arthur (Ruth) Schrubbe, sister Margaret (Walter) Pischke, in-laws Earl and Helen Lutjeharms, and brothers-in-law Elton (Ardith) Lutjeharms and Arlan Peters.
Family committal services will be held Saturday, February 20th at Twohig Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, Campbellsport.
The family will greet relatives and friends from Noon on Saturday February 20th at Tabor United Methodist Church, N4224 Church Road, Eden followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM with a luncheon to follow.
Cremation will take place with inurment at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.
