Robert “Bob” G. Tonn, 71, of Menomonee Falls died unexpectedly of an aneurysm at his summer home in Green Lake on July 18th, 2016. He was born in Dotyville on May 20, 1945, the oldest child of Lawrence and Deloris Wettstein Tonn. He graduated from St. Mary’s Springs Academy in 1963. After graduation he completed an auto mechanics course at MPTC. He married Carol Ann Grebe on Sept. 5, 1964 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Bob worked at Giddings & Lewis, Milwaukee Labor Hall, Mercury Marine and retired from Harley Davidson. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, the last 40 years fishing, gardening and other outdoor activities at Green Lake, and motorcycle riding. Bob was a brilliant trouble-shooter at fixing anything and enjoyed helping others. He could play the accordion and organ by ear, but his greatest love was for the Lord and joining his Savior in Heaven.
Survivors include his beloved wife Carol, whom he shared 51 blessed years of marriage, two daughters: Julie (Brett) Schlobohm of Branson, MO and Ann (David) Haasis of Menomonee Falls, three grandchildren: Ciarra Schlobohm, Noah and Caleb Haasis, two brothers: Kenneth (Susan) Tonn of Omaha, NE and Francis (Debbie) Tonn of Sioux City, IA and two sisters: Patricia Janzen and Jean Liedke both of Fond du Lac, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 25th at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave. Fond du Lac, with visitation from 3:00 to 5:30 PM, service at 5:30 PM followed with burial at Estabrooks Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
