Velma Mae Haynes

February 12, 1920 — April 11, 2017

Velma Mae Haynes, 97, of Oregon, WI, formerly of Campbellsport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Sienna Meadows Memory in Oregon. She was born on Feb. 12, 1920 in Alma, MI, the daughter of Floyd and Ada (Utter) Bliss. Weighing 2 lbs at birth, she began life with a fighting spirit and grew into a strong willed woman. On October 20, 1937 she married Francis Heaslip in East Lansing, Michigan where they lived and their children were born. On December 22, 1956, she married Ralph Haynes in Angola, Indiana. Velma enjoyed reading, watching Westerns and Fox News, old country music and playing Solitaire. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be missed by all.

Survivors include her daughters Alice Van Fossen, Myrtle Waldschmidt, Fran (Bob) Fleenor and Joan (Joe) Fisher, her son Floyd Reno, 41 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild. Velma was preceded in death by her husbands, her daughter Ada Baeckman, son John Heaslip, 3 brothers, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18th from 9:00 until 11:00 AM with a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport.  Rev. Paula Anderson will officiate and burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport.
