Joel Edmund Lucas

Joel Edmund Lucas, age 59 of Fond du Lac, WI passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 31, 2017 in California. Joel was born on June 15, 1958 in Elmore, WI, the son of Edmund and Ruth Lucas. He graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1976. Joel enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on November 20, 1976 and was honorably discharged in 1980. Although Joel was a disabled veteran that did not stop him from living life to the fullest and making a difference everywhere he went. May he rest in peace and be pain free now for the first time in 40 years.

Joel loved spending time with family and friends. His grandchildren, Lillian and Ben always made him smile and laugh. He never missed a chance to be a wisecracking, smartie pants kind of guy. He took pleasure in taking care of his fish/tanks, trucks and cars. He enjoyed going to car shows, mowing the lawn, and plowing snow.

Joel will remain in the hearts of his children, Tyler Lucas, Hudson, WI, Ashley Lucas, Fond du Lac, Christopher Lucas of Fond du Lac and Camille Lucas. Grandchildren Ben Lucas Stoll and Lillian Reyes. Brothers Dale and Dean Scheid, David, Jan and Troy Lucas. Sisters Darlene Mueller and Joy Ratzky. Nieces, nephews, as well as many extended family members.

He joins in heaven, his parents, Edmund and Ruth Lucas; siblings James Scheid, Jon Scheid and Richard Lucas.

A memorial service will be held at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Rev. Richard Balken will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Elmore Cemetery.
