George Francis King

George Francis King peacefully passed on March 13, 2018 at Penrose St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born to Joseph and Hildegarde King of Eden, Wisconsin on August 7, 1934. He was the eldest of 14 children. He attended St. Anthony’s Seminary in San Antonio, TX. He proudly served in the United States Army for 20 years. After retiring from the army, he lived in Clayhatchee, AL. He worked in the Hospitality industry for more than 20 years and also received an Associate’s degree in Computer Science from Enterprise Community College. He loved to play the violin and piano, and sing in the church choirs at St. John’s in Enterprise, AL and most recently at St. Patrick’s in Colorado Springs, CO. He was married for a time to Byung Rae Yoon (deceased) and they adopted a son James.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hildegarde King; as well as siblings, Patrick, Daniel, Mary, Richard and Jeannie.

George is survived by his son, James Hwang-King, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Baston; and 3 grandchildren, Madison, Duncan and Ryan as well as 8 siblings, David, Ruth, Rose, Michael, Susan, John, Charles and Donna (all from Fond du Lac, WI) along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 7th at 11:00 AM at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County Road B, Eden.  Rev. Mark Jones will officiate and inurnment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Eden with Military Rites.
